Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix mixed with
-
1/2 teaspoon of johnny's seasoning salt
- 4 (2.5 ounce) packages corn chips
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 chopped fresh tomato
- ½ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup salsa
Directions
Begin by heating a skillet over a medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart and stirring until it is fully browned and crumbles easily, approximately 7 to 10 minutes.
- After the beef is adequately cooked, remove any surplus oil by draining it from the skillet.
- Add 3/4cup of water along with the taco seasoning, stirring to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Allow this mixture to reach a boiling point.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat under the skillet, letting the beef simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Next, take the bags of corn chips and apply gentle pressure to crush them slightly, making sure to keep them in their original packaging to minimize mess.
- Open the chip bags and distribute the seasoned beef mixture evenly among the opened chip bags, directly on top of the lightly crushed chips.
Layer on additional toppings to each bag: sprinkle a generous amount of shredded lettuce, followed by Cheddar cheese, chunks of tomato, dollops of sour cream, and a spoonful of salsa. Enjoy
