Pull Apart-Xmas Tree
Ingredients
- 1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough
- Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water)
- 7 mozzarella sticks
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1/2 c. finely grated Parmesan
- 1 tbsp. Thinly sliced basil
- 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 tbsp. chopped rosemary
-
1 tbsp. Johnny's Parmesen Garlic
- Marinara, warmed (for serving)
Directions
- Turn your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a sizable oven tray by lining it with baking paper. Chop the mozzarella into bite-sized chunks, around 1 inch each, and put them aside.
- Dust your countertop with a bit of flour and halve your pizza dough. Work each half into a stretched rectangle, then snip it into squares, roughly 2 inches across. You will want about 33 of these.
- Take a square of dough and place a chunk of mozzarella in the center. Wrap the dough around the cheese, pinching it tightly shut to form a small parcel. Place these, with the seam facing down, on your prepared tray in a festive tree pattern, each one just touching the next. Glaze the tops with beaten egg and let them bake until they're a delicious golden brown, which should take 15 to 20 minutes.
As the dough parcels are baking, mix up your melted butter, grated Parmesan, Johnny's Parmesan Garlic and a selection of herbs. Once the parcels are out of the oven and still hot, brush them with this aromatic butter mixture. Present them warm and alongside a bowl of marinara sauce for everyone to enjoy a dip.
