Ingredients

2 ribeye or strip steaks (about 1–1.5 inches thick)
Olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic (smashed)
2 sprigs thyme (optional)
Johnny's Steak Seasoning

Directions

Take steaks out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking and pat dry.
Coat lightly with olive oil and season both sides with Johnny’s Steak Seasoning
Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron works best) over medium high heat until hot.
Add a splash of oil and sear steaks 2–3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms.
Reduce the heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary/thyme to the pan.
Tilt the pan and spoon melted butter over steaks for 1–2 minutes.
Cook to preferred doneness:
Rare: 120–125°F (about 6 minutes total)
Medium-rare: 130–135°F (about 8 minutes total)
Medium: 140–145°F (about 10 minutes total)
Transfer to a plate and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
