Adobo Tequila Skillet Tamale Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 box of corn muffin mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup creamed corn
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ cup onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tsp Johnny’s Seasoning salt
  • Johnny’s seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp of Johnny’s Parmesan Garlic
  • 1 small can of chopped green chilies
  • 1 can of rinsed black beans
  • 1 ½ cup Johnny’s Adobo Tequila Sauce
  • 2 cups of cheese
  • cilantro
  • avocado

Instructions

  1. Empty 1 8.5 ounce box of corn muffin mix into a large bowl
  2. Add 1 cup of sour cream
  3. Add 1 egg
  4. Add ½ cup of creamed corn
  5. Mix, then add to oven-safe skillet
  6. Spread an even layer, then bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees

 

  1. Preheat a frying pan
  2. Add tbs of oil
  3. Add ½ cup onion, and saute
  4. Add 1 pound of ground beef to skillet
  5. Season with 1 tsp Johnny’s Seasoning Salt, 1 tsp of Johnny’s seasoned pepper, and 1 tsp of Johnny’s Parmesan Garlic
  6. Sauté until beef is browned
  7. Add 1 small can of chopped green chilies
  8. Add 1 can of rinsed black beans
  9. Sauté

 

  1. Poke holes in the cooked corn bread
  2. Add 1 ½ cup Johnny’s Adobo Tequila Sauce and spread evenly over bread
  3. Add 2 cups of cheese on top of corn bread
  4. Add cooked meat mixture
  5. Cover skillet with foil, then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
  6. Top with sour cream, cilantro and avocado.
